Cherry Overnight Oats
Cherry Overnight Oats is one of the favorite recipes of my kids. I love it too, although there is rarely anything left for me after the kids raided the fridge!! This recipe is one of the few where I use compote instead of fresh or defrosted fruits. Usually, cherry compote is very high in sugar, but I found a brand that has no refined sugar added.
You can use the juice of the compote to soak your oats; which gives a beautiful color. Cherries always call for chocolate, that’s why I used dark chocolate flakes. Can you believe this pansy was as huge as the palm of my hand? This flower was amazing! I should have called the Guinness Book of Records!!
Weck jars are an excellent opportunity to take your Overnight Oats with you to work. I have a whole cupboard filled with jars in every possible size. And still, I have to hold back myself from buying new ones. At least they are not expensive! Rather a garage filled with jars than with cars. Oh my, that was a lame joke. I am sorry!
If you have the chance to use fresh cherries for this recipe, don’t hesitate! It’s even more delicious.
